Real Estate Influencing is Dead

Influencing Is Dead: Confession Time thumbnail for Josh Brown's post on doing real estate deals vs. looking successful.

One of the biggest names in real estate just announced he’s getting OUT of the flipping and wholesaling business.

And frankly, I think that’s a good thing.

Reserve my seat for next week's challenge

I’ve been in this business for over 25 years, and there’s something I think more people need to hear.

Especially if you’re serious about making money in real estate.

Is Wholesaling Dead?

Every few years somebody announces that wholesaling is dead. I’ve heard it in hot markets and slow ones, and I’ve been hearing it for 25 years. Wholesaling isn’t dead. What’s dying is the version you see on social media: the rented car, the highlight reel, the course pitch at the end of every video.

When the market gets harder, the people who were really in the content business are the first ones out.

The people in the deal business are still calling sellers, running numbers, and closing deals.

Looking Successful vs. Actually Doing Deals

Looking successful is followers, thumbnails, and views.

Doing deals is a lot less exciting. It’s following up with the seller who’s told you no three times, building a buyer list you can count on, and knowing your numbers before you make an offer. Nobody posts that part, but that’s the part that pays.

There’s a BIG difference between looking successful in real estate and actually doing deals.

And what we’re doing next week is all about the latter.

Stay sharp,

Josh Brown

Josh, I LOVE this post! You are very fun, and funny, plus “the real deal”, like Cam. Ha!

Oh no truer words have been spoken Josh! The stock market has crashed how many times now, yet the S&P 500 still ticks up and down every single day. Real Estate is not going ANYWHERE, but the grifters and lifestyle influencers will just find a new wave to pretend their on LOL!!!
